As with everything we do here on this site, we want to make it FUN and easy.
Consider setting the mood…
Dim lights, burn candles, open windows for outside air, soft music, flowers, eliminate clutter, focus your thoughts and intentions on cleansing & releasing.
Preparing for your bath…
- Run water at the hottest temperature that you can safely get in that will generate perspiration.
Hot water aids in cleansing the skin and opening the pores.
- Chose a formula from below…
- Drink 12 – 16 oz of water before, during & after the bath.
- Soak in a DETOX BATH for at least 20 – 30 minutes.
- You may wrap a cool cloth around your neck to ease any lightheadedness.
While you are running the bath water…
- Brush your skin with a loofa, bristle or vegetable brush.
- Brush ALL parts of the body TOWARD the heart. Proper skin brushing will assist in exfoliation of the outer layers of your skin cells, support and encourage lymph drainage and increase circulation.
After the bath…
- Follow the bath with a warm soapy shower to clean pores and rinse toxins off your skin.
- Do NOT use any cremes, oils or powders.
- Wrap yourself in a towel or cotton robe or sheet. Allow your body to perspire after you get out of the bath. Perspiration will occur for 1 -2 hours after bath
DETOX BATH FORMULAS
Epsom Salt Plus Detox Bath
1 lb box of Baking Soda & 24 ounces of Epsom Salt
Optional: Lavender Oil & Bentonite Clay
Lavender – Lavender is the most relaxing of all the oils it will help relax & sleep well. Sprinkle a few drops of the lavender oil directly on to the Epsom Salt and then add the Epsom Salt to the bath water…. do not place drops directly into the water.
Bentonite Clay – add 1/4 – 1 cup of clay to bath. You can use more if you’re in good health or less if your system is stressed or sensitive. To avoid clumping, sprinkle the clay gently over the water and let it dissolve without stirring or pre-dissolve it in warm water with a whisk and then add to bath water.
Ginger Detox Bath
Stir 1/8 cup of Ground Ginger & 24 ounces of Epsom Salt together first, then add to bath water.
(or you can use 2 Tbsp – 1/8 c of freshly grated ginger)
DETOX BATH TIPS
- Detox Baths are great to take before bed because you may feel tired and will want to rest afterward.
- Bentonite Clay will draw out heavy metals, pesticides, free radicals and probably some good minerals too. Take a good mineral/electrolyte supplement to replace them. Or drink 12 ounces of veggie juice or a package of Emergen-C
